Stories have the power to change culture.
When people speak honestly about their experiences at the end of life — the struggles, the love, the uncertainty, the courage — others recognize themselves in those stories. They realize they are not alone.
Stories create connection. And connection creates courage — the courage to speak, to prepare, to advocate.
They also travel farther than we imagine. Lawmakers may debate policy, but they remember the stories people tell. Personal stories are what stay with them when decisions are made.
This work for better deaths is not abstract. It is personal. And it matters now.
